"Army" is also the name used by the United States Military Academy's (located in West Point, New York) sports teams. The team nickname is "Black Knights".

The men's basketball team plays in the Patriot League, while the football team is in Conference USA.

Army's chief rival is Navy (U.S. Naval Academy) and the annual Army/Navy football game gets nationwide coverage. At Army, a common refrain is "Go Army, Beat Navy".
