A 16-voice polyphonic digital synthesizer with a 61-note keyboard. Released in 1983.

The DX9 is essentially a cheap version of the popular DX7. It offers a 4-operator FM synth engine with 8 selectable algorithms. Standard LFO modulation and an ADSR envelope generator are included.
An internal memory which holds up to 20 patches is available. There is also a tape interface for more storage, with a 420-patch tape supplied with the unit. For external control there are inputs for pedal and breath controller, as well as limited MIDI implementation (in/out only).
