In The Vision of Escaflowne the prince of Fanelia, also the sole operator of the Guymelef Escaflowne.
He is one of the last survivors of a race of winged people from Atlantis, known also as "dragons." His brother being the other that you know of in the show.
He has strong ties to the catgirl Merle, who he grew up with (or so we are led to assume). Also to Hitomi, who he first meets on her world (earth, the mystic moon) but they're soon whisked away to Gaia.
At the beginning of the series he seems rather hotheaded, unimaginative and childish, but through the course of the show he grows up an aweful lot, becoming a much more interesting character.

erm, he's in love with Hitomi.
