The over-specialization that people resort to for major advances in a short time frame can often have the effect of cutting them off from each other's sphere of experience and making communication between them progressively more difficult.
This can lead quickly to a condition of expert addiction, where instead of bringing an all-purpose set of tools and abilities to daily life and activities, we are perpetually in dependence on the direction of others to manage our lives, and the innate instability of this system soon works itself to a crisis.
