Thomas Ligotti is an American writer of short horrific fiction, often compared to Edgar Allen Poe and H.P.Lovecraft. He lives in Detroit, Michigan, and is currently alive. He works for The Gale Group, a publishing company of literary compilations.
He once wrote an episode of the X files which was never adopted by Chris Carter for the show.
I came across Ligotti while trying to track down sources listed on the Current 93 website at http://www.brainwashed.com/c93. He has a special relationship with David Tibet, the guitarist and frontman of the band, who describes him as "an apocalyptic, visionary author.
