When faced with something momentary,
human instinct provokes a shutter-snap
internal cogs wheeling to set prisms
capturing the light, reflected back in a raindrop

In a far place, seas of these memories
withdraw, lengthen,
showing themselves only at the right time
the cause of why everything is enchanting one minute and darker the next

Climate change warms the seas, making them evaporate,
the little comforts
washed away, hopefully leaving traces to remain deep in the sediment
