Taylor Deupree, also known as Taylor808, has been making
ambient music for some years now. In the early 90's he released as
Human Mesh Dance, on
Instinct Records (as well as doing cover art for most of their other releases, including designing the graphics of the seminal
Instinct Ambient series.) He has also worked with
Dietrich Schoenemann and
Jason Szostek as
Prototype 909, and with
Saavas Ysatis as SETI, as well as appearing in many other single album collaborations.
Since his work as Human Mesh Dance, his style has shifted towards the abstract, and his recent releases on Caipirinha Records and Mille Plateaux Records have been quite ... 'challenging' - hisses, ticks, pops, and whirrs, all with a very DSP-ish twinge to it.
