Like their
flagship pistol, the
PT92, the PT22 is also a copy of the Beretta
.22lr pistol the
Beretta Bobcat.
The difference is that instead of using the trigger guard as also the tip-up barrel spring it has a fixed trigger guard and an internal spring instead.
It also is different in that it is double action only but aside from that it is more or less a decent copy of the Beretta original.
Firing .22lr from a 2" barrel and being a palm sized pistol, the PT22 is a good back up gun or a pocket pistol.
The PT22 and the PT25 (the .25 acp version) are the only Taurus firearms that are not made in Brazil like all their other guns, these two pocket guns are made in the USA as their small and cheap nature disqualifies them from being legally imported.
