Takeo Doi is a Japanese psychiatrist. He graduated from Tokyo University in 1942. His most important contribution is the theory of "amae" as a basis for understanding the Japanese thought process. His most important works are: "The Anatomy of Dependence" and "The Anatomy of Self."
