Seattle-based software company responsible for Internet in a Box and Internet Office. Both products offered Spry's web browser, a reworked version of the Spyglass browser, which was a reworked version of the original NCSA Mosaic. Spry was purchased by Compuserve in late 1994, chiefly to give CSI a browser strategy. After Microsoft decided to kill the browser market with Internet Explorer, software production was halted and the company launched Sprynet as a low-end, Internet-only ISP, as opposed to CSI's higher-priced offerings. Sprynet was eventually purchased by Mindspring for a pittance when the house of cards finally fell.

Spry (?), a. [Compar. Sprier or Spryer (); superl. Spriest or Spryest.] [Cf. dial. Sw. sprygg lively, skittish, and E. sprag.]

Having great power of leaping or running; nimble; active.

[U.S. & Local Eng.]

She is as spry as a cricket. S. Judd (Margaret).

If I'm not so large as you, You are not so small as I, And not half so spry. Emerson.
