"Silver Beatles" is the name that "The Beatles" used shortly before their (second to) last band name. The name came from a previous name "Silver Beetles" which was a tribute of sorts to "Buddy Holly and the Crickets."
This was the first time that they used the "Beatle" spelling, derived from an idea of John Lennon's to combine the word "Beat" with "Beetles." It was this combination that was much ridiculed/appreciated with the Wonders/Oneders conversations in the movie "That Thing You Do" starring Tom Hanks and Liv Tyler among others.
