QUILTBAG is an acronym for Queer/Questioning, Undecided, Intersex, Lesbian, Trans (Transgender/Transsexual/Two-Spirited), Bisexual, Asexual, Gay/Genderqueer.
While it is an easier acronym to remember, some of the folks who are covered by the acronym do not like it because it either excludes a group they think should be covered or it includes a group that should not be covered. The number of naysayers are quite small from my experience but their opinions are just as important if one will be using this acronym.
The term was coined in 2006 by Sadie Lee who used it in an article in Diva Magazine. There are some minorities who wish to have their own designations for their own racial group due to the LGBT having an overwhelmingly white membership. The terms are still in a fluid state and will eventually become clearer.
