Orthoptics is a profession allied to that of medicine, specialising in the evaluation and treatment of disorders of the visual system with an emphasis on binocular vision and eye movements. Most commonly seen in the setting of pediatric ophthalmology where the concern is with visual development in children and the diagnosis and treatment of disorders o such as squint and lazy eye.
