A form of chronic liver infection. This is apparently quite prevalent in Hong Kong, Southern China, and parts of South East Asia.

Caused by a liver fluke, Clonorchis sinensis, there is NO CURE for this disease. The only potentially curative treatment option available is liver resection (ugh). Antibiotics do not help.

It causes chronic hepatitis and increases the risk of hepatomas and cholangiocarcinomas.
