Gorgeous German-born actress, although she spoilt it a bit by doing L'Oreal ads. Daughter of Klaus Kinski and his first wife Ruth Brigitte, a poet. Made her screen debut in Wim Wenders' Wrong Move (1975) and then had a notorious affair with Roman Polanski, who was 25 years older than her. He put her through method acting school and then gave her the lead role in Tess (1980), the film adapted from Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Later, she had another affair with Jean-Jacques Beineix during the filming of Moon in the Gutter. When her son was born in 1984, the director was among 8 'paternity suspects' listed by a German magazine. She later married the father, an Egyptian producer.
