Way back in 1982, there was a guy in Mississippi who wanted to be a nurse. MUW was the only nursing school in the state, so he applied to the all-female college and was denied entry. He then sued the school and the case went to the Supreme Court of the State of Mississippi. The court ruled that MUW had to accept male students from that day on, or become ineligible for state funding.

The university has about 3,000 students today, about one quarter of whom are male. It is a good school for nurses and teachers, but sucks for anything else (e.g., the only computer-related classes taught are Pascal and FORTRAN).
