A member of the Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE), the Java Transaction Service is a Java implementation of the Object Management Group's Object Transaction Service (OTS) specification. JTS uses standard CORBA and IIOP interfaces for transaction context propagation between transaction managers. The transaction service provides consistent, durable, and isolated data services for distributed objects.
