A new term coined around mid-1990's, used to describe
hostility towards
Islam and
prejudice against
muslims mainly due to stereo-typical uninformed views that are deeply rooted within
western culture. It encompasses the element of
dislike of the
Islamic faith and active
discrimination of people belonging to the
religion.
Although the term is new, anti-Islamic
racism itself is as old as Islam.
