Where there were formerly
people there all day, every day, including
weekends, now you can watch the
tumbleweed roll across the parking lot.
One of the saddest sites I've ever seen, in my current company, is the Heigh, Ho, IPO We Go! sign that had been made that day, with a clipping of the stock ticker on it. It had been signed by all of the employees of the company, with various words of encouragement. One of the saddest is that "and the sad thing is, we're worth every penny."
Now, a bit over a year later, the IPO is synonymous with Internet Stock Bubble, and the company, formerly in two buildings on the site, each with the three floors, has consolidated into one half of one floor.
On the plus side, the empty cube farms would make a great Lazer Tag place.
