Gandolfo's is a chain of "New-York Style" Delis that originated in
Utah. They've got a multitude of exceedingly tasty
sammiches, each with a
New York themed name... like the
Brooklyn Bridge (Roast
turkey,
bacon,
provolone on a hero with
lettuce,
tomato, and
mayo), the
Godfather (Breaded
chicken cutlet, melted
mozzarella, and marinara on a hero roll with tomato and garlic butter) and my personal favorite, the
Empire State (Breaded chicken cutlet, roast turkey breast, provolone, and cream cheese on a hero with lettuce, tomato, and mayo... there is also a
Russian variant which adds a Russian dressing... my personal favorite).
The chain started in Provo, UT in 1989, and has expanded all over Utah since. Gandolfo's opened their first non-Utah store in October 2002 in Athens, GA. Their food is delicious, reasonably priced (Anywhere from $5 to $7 for a 12"), and addictive as crack.
