A professional wrestling federation formed in 1989 in Japan by Atsushi Onita. FMW stands for Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling. Their first show was in Nagoya on October 6, 1989. The company held their first Japanese Death Match in the summer of 1990. Death matches are now held at almost every show. In 1991, several wrestlers from FMW broke off to form W*ING (Wrestling's International New Generation). Unfortunately, the promotion ran out of money and closed. Today, FMW is run by Shouichi Arai but Atsushi continues to wrestle.
