I wonder how many times a day we get
bombarded by propaganda, aimed at modifying our
social behavior. I mean, almost every church in existance has a billboard out front with some little
catchy phrase about this weeks
sermon and why you should feel bad and attend
services, but this afternoon I saw the most
bizarre example..
I was on my way from classes to work, and I passed the MacDouglas Funeral Home, or something like that. They had a dot-matrix screen under their lit sign that flashed the temperature, the time, and then a short message. Yesterday, it was "Count to Ten". Strange, but today's was node-worthy. As I drove by, I saw it flash one word after the other..
"Ignore"
"Negative"
"Thoughts"
How 1984 of them, I thought to myself as someone cut me off and I wished for a hood-mounted missile launcher.
