El Coo Cooi is the
Mexican equivalent to the
bogeyman. He is what will eat you if you stay up past your bedtime, as well as if you run off while your parents aren’t looking, or what lives in your
closet if you don’t clean your room. He does everything the
normal bogeyman does, except the parents aren’t nearly so nice about it. They tend to be much more
graphic, including lots of sharp
fangs and
blood.
