Situated in
Cairo, the
Egyptian Museum is home to much of the archeological glory of
Egypt. The museum is full of statues, artworks, sarcophagi and many other relics from
Egypt's
ancient history. If you really want to appreciate everything that this treasure trove has to offer, I advise you to set aside a whole day to exploring its many rooms. The chaotic manner in which the artefacts are housed adds to the atmosphere of the museum.
The star attractions are the treasures which were found in Tutankhamun's tomb in Luxor - particularly the gold mask of the boy king. Be prepared to do some serious elbowing if you want to get a good look at the displays in this room.
