A one-man band from Guyana. After being in The Equals, he returned home to the Western Hemisphere, setting up a recording studio in Barbados, and an indie label (Ice). First hit: "Living on the Front Line", an early example of a synth-pop approach to reggae, long before Jamaica was overrun by cheap Casio synthesizers. Most famous in the States for his early-MTV solo piece "Electric Avenue", where he applied his studio-rat approach to straightahead pop.
