Dodman is also a headland in Cornwall, south-western England. It faces Rame Head, near Plymouth, and the two headlands are the subject of the saying 'When Rame Head and Dodman meet', meaning never. The location is also mentioned in the song 'Spanish Ladies', and is close to Mevagissey, the real-life inspiration for the village of Trewissick in the Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper.
