Just read A princess dress and a cowboy hat and it reminded me of something from a few years back:

I was traveling on a local walking path and came across a family of 4 with two young children. The son walked around in a dress, clothing a little more vibrant than most boys.
The father looked at me a little bit sheepishly. There may or may not have been a shrug.
To me the scene was pretty awesome.
I wanted to tell him: "Dude, you're nailing it. You and your family are together, outisde, breathing fresh air, getting exercise and spending time together. And you're letting your son express himself. You're doing so much that's right and good. I can't tell you how proud of you and your family I am."

Dude, you're nailing it.

Edit: I wanted to make a joke about Wertperch and "old fogey" or "old hat", or something. Obviously I didn't because he might throw a shoe at me, and there might be some poor old lady in it.
