Cambodian student who fired blanks from a starting pistol at Prince Charles at a ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in 1994.

This simulated assassination was intended to protest the plight of 50 Cambodian asylum-seekers imprisoned since 1990. He had previously written to the prince but received no reply. Australia is the only western country with mandatory detention for refugees who enter the country illegally.
