CS (Computer Science) is called
Informatik in
Germany. It is very theoretically in the first years. As the name already implies it is not really about programming (though you program, too) but more about building and designing computer systems in a scientifically way (yes it is as boring as it sounds). You can take
diploma,
lectureship,
bachelor of arts,
bachelor of science or
master of science.
It is taught at most german
universities and is one of the most popular subjects. Because there are so many people who want to study it, there is a
numerus clausus (n.c.).
