MedicAlert bracelet idea.
So the story goes, in 1953 her daughter cut a finger and was taken to a doctor (who happened to be her Uncle). The doctor gave a test for tetanus sensitivity; just the test put her into shock--she was highly allergic. She did live, however.
A few (3) years later, Chrissie and her husband, Marion, founded MedicAlert. About 4 million have the bracelets, and about 80,000 lives have been saved. (Estimated, of course.)
Chrissie died on January 8, 2001, at 94 years old.
