Cheshunt is a small to medium sized town
. It's a relatively quiet place and is firmly on the commuter belt
, where most of its population work.
Cheshunt was probably founded in Anglo-Saxon
times but it is first recorded in Roman
times, from where it gets it's name; Ches from the latin
cestre and hunt, collectively meaning ‘wooded hunt’.
Today, Cheshunt is a relatively unimportant place with it's main to claims to fame being that the first Lotus sports car factory
was situated in Windmill Lane, Cheshunt and Britain
's largest supermarket
, has it's head offices here.
It's also my hometown
