These are ultra simple but always well-received and handy if you are looking for vegetarian nibbles for your party or posh opening event. They are best served warm, but are still pretty darn good when they have cooled off

For 12-14 snacks

  1. Pre-heat an oven to 180C (350F)
  2. Spread the wet ingredient (mustard, tomato puree or pesto) over 75% of the pastry, leaving a strip uncovered down one edge
  3. Cover the wet ingredient with grated cheese
  4. Moisten the uncovered edge
  5. Roll the pastry tightly starting at the filled side and rolling toward the uncovered edge
  6. Press down to seal
  7. Cut into 12-14 rounds and place on an oven tray covered with baking paper
  8. Bake for 7-10 minutes until golden and oozing cheese.
  9. All done!
