A popular beer, widely sold in South Africa. Possibly also sold in other parts of the world. Castle is brewed by the behemoth SAB (South African Breweries). It has the dubious distinction of subtly changing flavour on a frequent basis. Castle Lager is one of the cornerstones of South African masculinity - along with braais, rugby and drunk driving.

As is typically the case with massively commercial alcoholic beverages, Castle Lager has a long, vague history. Somebody called Charles Glass was involved in the beer's original conception.

Pale, crisp and refreshing brew. Lends itself well to being consumed in huge quantities.
