Broward County, Florida is the county just north of Dade County, Florida, which is the county where Miami is located. Its major city is Fort Lauderdale. As of April 1, 2002, the city was divided into two different area codes, 954 and 754. Broward County gained its national spotlight when it had its difficulties voting in the 2000 Presidental Election.
