Broadcast
satellite owned by Societe Europeenne des Satellies. It launched into
orbit June 16, 2001 by International Launch Services from the
Baikonur Cosmodrome,
Kazakhstan. A Proton K - Block DM
rocket carried the
payload. The satellite was built by
Boeing Satellite System. It is an 8500 kW version of the Boeing 601 platform.
