Αμπελος

A youth beloved by Dionysus. He was the son of a Nymph and a Satyr, and his name means vine stick. The god presented him with a vine laden with grapes which hung from the branches of an elm tree. Anxious to pick the fruit the youth climbed the elm, but fell while he was picking and was killed. Dionysus changed him into a constellation.
