A substitute to GHB, currently legal in many countries.

1,4-Butanediol is converted into GHB in the body, but it is quite heavy on the kidneys. Furthermore, when combined with alcohol, it is even more dangerous than GHB+booze. This is caused by an enzyme in the liver which processes both substances. 1-4BD's effects come with a longer onset and duration, but are less euphoric.

In other words: not worth it. The real thing is relatively safe when used with care, but the Butanediol is toxic even in small doses.

Chemical names:
Butanediol, butane-1,4-diol, 1,4-butylene glycol, tetramethylene 1,4-diol 1,4-dihydroxybutane, 1,4-tetramethylene glycol, butylene glycol

A GHB substitute. Also known as BAD, from the acronym, not from the effects. 1,4-Butanediol has a oily taste which clings to the tounge, like having motor oil or wood polish get into every crevice between your tastebuds. It's not entirely pleasant, but in an different way to GHB so you might find it more bearable.

The effects are OK, but real GHB is much nicer. 1,4-Butanediol takes longer to kick in, and when it does it feels more like a sedative. GHB is lighter, happier and bouncier. I wouldn't bother with BAD.
