The Shuttle was a low-priced alternative to the PC Engine (¥18,800), despite the fact it was larger, blacker and supposed to be shaped like a spacecraft (even the controller took on some UFO-like qualities). The Shuttle had no expansion port, making it incompatible with the CD-ROM² and Super CD-ROM². The fact that it was cheaper and only played HuCards was played up to families and people who were unsure about video games. It never reached the same wide distribution as the CoreGrafx, so is still pursued by collectors.
