The movie Papillon is outstanding. It stars Steve Mcqueen and Dustin Hoffman. It is about a man falsely convicted of killing a pimp who is sent to the French Guyana penal system. There, he faces many atrocities, and he escapes several times. The most memorable escape vignette is when he goes to a cloister and asks for asylum. The head nun there hears the story of how he is innocent, agrees to allow him to stay upon receiving an insurance deposit of pearls from Papillon. The next day, Papillon is captured by police she called to arrest him. She tells him that if he is guilty, his pearls (which she kept) will provide for the poor, and if he is innocent, God will provide for him. It is a moving, powerful movie that showcases outstanding acting on the parts of Steve Mcqueen and Dustin Hoffman.
