• An acoustic coupler is a device that ataches to a phone and then to a RJ-11 jack (phone line). It makes a direct plugin unnecessary. They are old-school computing tools but are still useful today for a few things. Their most public apearance was in War Games.

  • Acoustic couplers can be bought on ebay and other auction sites. I have seen them for sale in a few places also, but they are pretty expensive, expect to pay about $60 for a used one and $110 for a new one.
