The Blue Mountains, or Ered Luin in the Sindarin tongue, formed the eastern border of the ancient land of Beleriand. Only these mountains and a small part of eastern Ossiriand, Lindon remained after the War of Wrath at the end of the First Age. It was also in these mountains that the great dwarven cities of Nogrod and Belegost were situated.
