Police Radio Codes (thing) by cordelia

Sometimes called the "ten codes", these are a shorthand, most often used by police officers, to quickly and efficiently communicate, with a low chance of misunderstanding. The codes are:

10-1 receiving poorly, bad signal
10-2 Receiving OK, signal strong
10-3 stop transmitting
10-4 message received
10-5 relay message
10-6 busy, please stand by
10-7 out of service (unit is 10-7 at the donut shop)
10-8 in service
10-9 repeat message
10-10 finished, standing by
10-11 talk slower
10-12 visitors present
10-13 need weather or road conditions
10-16 pickup needed at ________
10-17 urgent business
10-18 is there anything for us?
10-19 nothing for you / return to base
10-20 my location is _____ (can be a question - "What's your 20?")
10-21 use a telephone (subject is to sensitive for air)
10-22 report in person to _____
10-23 stand by
10-24 finished last assignment
