Lincoln Blackwood
The
Blackwood is
Lincoln's foray into the world of
crossover trucks, i.e. those
vehicles which can't decide whether they're a
pickup or an
SUV. Essentially, it's a combination of the front end from
Lincoln's own
Navigator behemoth SUV and the four-door cab and bed of the
Ford F-150 supercrew
pickup. Slap in a
shedload of
wood trim and a couple of cows-worth of
leather, and
"Bob's your massively-profit-making uncle", as they say.
With pickup trucks being the best-selling vehicle category in the USA and the profit margin made on SUV sales being so high, I guess we'll be seeing more of this type of thing.
