Los Hombres Calientes are Irvin Mayfield, the young (twenty-something) trumpeter and frontman; Bill Summers, percussionist; and Jason Marsalis, drummer, and the youngest member of the Marsalis family that includes Wynton and Ellis. Yvette Bostic-Summers - percussionist, vocalist, and Bill's wife, David Pulfus - percussionist/vocalist, and Victor Atkins III - pianist - join in regularly.

Los Hombres Calientes are an incredibly talented Jazz band with distinct Latin (samba, &c.) influences, and are usually labeled as an Afro-Cuban band.

Los Hombres Calientes were the winners of the top award at the 1999 New Orleans Jazz Festival for their first, self-titled album.

"Los Hombres Calientes" is also Spanish for "The Hot Guys".
