Eohippus, meaning "dawn horse," was an early model equine field tested by Nature around 50 million years ago. It was a small horse (as prototypes often are, probably coming no higher than your knee. Dang it, they were so darn cute, it's a shame not to have them around anymore. But gone, they are, having either undergone the process of evolution (much like Charmander ultimately becoming Charizard, except really not at all like that), or been eaten, by cave men and saber-toothed cats and giant predatory flightless birds.

Goodbye, Eohippus. We hardly knew ye.
