Term used in London's subway system (the underground, the tube) to indicate exit.

Ah, the English, so literal. The "way out" signs are posted to indicate exits from the tunnels, so as not to confuse people into mistaking them for emergency exits (which are marked as such).

The Original "Way Outs" were also a rock band from outer space in Hannah-Barbera's late-night cartoon, "Space Ghost", and also crossed over in a couple of 70's-era Flintstones episodes. They played at the Water Buffalo Masquerade Ball.

Their biggest hit was "We're going waay out, waay out...that's where the fun is, waay out!". They were supposedly reminiscent of either the Beatles or The Monkees.
