The morning of Sunday, April 29th, 1970, Royal Trust drove nine Brinks armoured trucks to the front of their CIL office building on Dorchester Boulevard in Montreal in a bit of an ostentatious "transfer of power" display: this day was two days before an election and in previous transfers the trucks had always employed the garage.

The trucks were loaded up with "securities" (stocks, shares, bonds, etc.) and drove straight out of Montreal and, in fact, out of Quebec entirely, permanently moving the capital into Ontario.

It is apparently of some political significance that the majority of Royal Trust's board were at the time members of the Quebec Liberal party. If anyone can clear this up, please do.
