Sprewells are named after Latrell Sprewell, who founded Sprewell Racing, and automotive customization shop. He appeared on MTV with a customized Mercedes-Benz sporting rims by Davin Wheels with the aformentioned attachment. These wheels quickly made his company a mint, becoming extraordinarily popular among the hip hop crowd and ballers everywhere. They can be incredibly expensive. I have heard of some costing upwards of twenty thousand dollars.
