Oxymoron I use a lot to describe just about any male who is obviously the subject of the conversation.

Example:

A friend: Me and Fat-P went out last night.
Me: Oh yeah? How's old boy doing?

Slang, 1920s

A male term of address, used in conversation with other males. Denoted acceptance in a social environment. Also "old man," "old fruit," "old bean." As in, "How's everything old boy?"
