A person who studies meteorology; that is the study of weather and the atmosphere. Many television weather forecasters are meteorologists, although a few are probably just parroting what the meteorologist told them to say.

Me`te*or*ol"o*gist (?), n. [Cf. F. m'et'eorologiste.]

A person skilled in meteorology.
